Product Description

The Raw Ebony Pendant captures the untamed spirit of nature and the Taoist aesthetic of the "Uncarved Block" (Pu). Unlike polished ornaments, this piece retains the rugged, handmade texture of the wood, preserving its original organic form. A thick gauge of hand-textured brass wire is tightly coiled around the timber, creating a striking contrast between the dark, ancient wood and the warm, metallic binding.

Each pendant is a unique artifact. True Black Ebony is rarely pitch black; colors range from deep brown to a distinguished black-purple in older wood, or a warm yellow-brown in younger wood. We ship randomly based on natural availability. The surface is nourished with a layer of Tung tree oil, which may carry a faint natural scent initially but will dissipate after a few days of wear.

In Taoist symbolism, raw wood represents potential and simplicity, while the spiral form signifies the movement of energy. Care

To preserve the spirit of this artifact, please keep it dry. Avoid water and humidity to prevent the wood from swelling and the brass from oxidizing (rusting). We recommend a daily ritual of rubbing the wood surface with your hands or a soft cloth. This interaction will prevent the brass from tarnishing and help the wood develop a glossy, dark patina over time, deepening the bond between the pendant and its owner.
